DATA
Class:
Human; Poor
Although he's human, he often he wishes he could have been something more in order to help his brother.
(But, he'd probably never admit that to Matthew.
There's no way he could.)
A normal human had soft flesh and blood, easily tearable and not strong enough to take injuries. As a simple person, he often fell and tripped. This led to scars and injuries, left noticeable even after they healed. The markings left never bothered him in terms of appearance.
Nah, he never really cared for things like that anyway.
The only thing he hated was the reminder that even his own body had limitations.
He loathed having to be reminded that his physical 'shell' wasn't as strong as his will
and that he was in fact not as strong as he desired.
(Because maybe
If he had had that extra strength...
he could have protected his brother more...)
Name:
Alphred Finn Jones.
At least, that was the only name he knew.
But, hey.
It could have actually been 'Bob' and he wouldn't have argued.
Still, overall, he was pretty content with his own name already.
Nickname(s):
Alph, Alphie, Al
He's pretty flexible with nicknames, seeing that he's never really taken what other called him to heart. He was pretty much gifted (or cursed depending on how you look at it) with a one-track and naive mind. For example, you could probably insult him and it would take the child a while to understand what you meant.
Though maybe it helped that his brother and he were most often referred to as 'those two kids' or ' That child over there!'
Birthday:
He never really knew his date of birth.
But then again, he couldn't remember what it was like to merely be embraced in his mother's arms either.
Still, Alphred has always been entranced and fascinated with the thought of birthdays. Ever since he was little, he would love to hear stories about how children would receive just what they wanted or needed on that joyous day. He would imagine what it was like to celebrate a party with his brother. They would both be clean and happy, ecstatic for making it out of their predicament alive and safely. The cold interior of the orphanage would be a mere memory, the hard stuffy beds just a temporary ache in their backs. After a pair of grownups would bring them a cake to share all together.
He would dream of the array of colors painted intricately onto fine china and plates, lavish in the heavenly scent of the newly-baked pastries and sweets foods. He'd block out the sounds of his rumbling stomach with the taste of delightful delicacies, each one coming from different lands and cultures.
The adults...
No.
Their parents would embrace the two brothers in their warm arms and never let go.
They would apologize for leaving them and assure the dazzled children that they would never do it again. That... that... they didn't have a choice and didn't want to lose them in the first place. Mommy would cry as Daddy comforted her and everyone would go into a large embrace as what others called a fam-il-y(?). They would all be together again.
And...
it would all be on July 4...
Yeah!
That was a good date.
On that day, Daddy would pat Alphred on the head and smile. He'd tell him what a good brother he was to Matthie and how he had pulled through for them all. And with a proud grin, the child would be able to say " Of course!"
He was a hero after all.
Owner:
n/a
House:
Alphred was happy that he had his brother with him in the orphanage, but always secretly felt they were meant for something more.
Still, houses were only for those of high class.
They were meant for people with families and friends and enough food to eat everyday. They were meant for people with an education and a whole wardrobe filled with clothes for every occasion. A house was for people who could dine together every night underneath the twink-twink-twinkling of the chandeliers and banquet on trays of lobsters, pork and steak. It was meant for people in elaborate, puffy gowns and crisp, neat suits.
It would be nice to have a lot to eat but, he didn't know if he was willing to live a life of etiquette and rules. Although their current situation wasn't much better, at least two brothers had one another. And somehow, they always managed to continue living

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
[/center]
Eye Color:
Alphred has light blue eyes that brighten up when he's happy or excited. Whenever he has a plan or idea, it's as if a spark suddenly (and figuratively) flashes in them.
Because laser vision is cool.
Hair Color:
Blonde with a little hair that sticks up. His hair is short, unkempt and messy, making him look perfectly male.
You could probably mistake him for a girl though, if you really wanted to.
Height:
About 5'0.
Weight:
"H-hey! Never ask a man for his weight--
Oh, never mind.
That only goes for women."
Approximately 109 pounds.
What did you expect?
He's 10.
Build:
Being a child, Alphred has a short and slim build. He's only slightly taller than his brother, though he's one year older than Matthew. He wishes he could be more muscular so he could be like one of those bodyguards that they often see accompanying high class nobles. That way, he could defend both of them better and make up for his height.
Sadly he hasn't had any luck in the bodybuilding department, seeing that there are no weights in the orphanage.
Then again, he'd probably wouldn't bother again after trying his hand at one.
Distinguishing Features:
Hmm... He pretty much has average features, to be really honest.
But if we were to compare him to Matthew, you could say that his features are slightly more mature and rough. Seeing that he was fond of doing things like running around and stealing food for the two of them, he grew to become more boyish physically than his younger brother. The little hair that sticks impishly out is also a way of telling who he is and differentiating them both.
Then again, they're not very hard to tell apart.
Typical Dress:
There's not much to wear when you're in an orphanage except for the clothes you were already wearing when you got there.
Buuuutttt~
He did find an awesome bomber jacket that someone was willing to actually discard. And what a waste that would be! So, he took it upon himself to borrow it from the pile of donations and kept it. After all, someone would have taken it even if he didn't.
The goggles he found were helpful as well.
Orientation:
You're asking the ten-year-old child if he prefers men or women.
Let's allow that to sink in, shall we?
Next, you'll be asking if he's in love with his brother--
But admittedly no one would be very shocked.
On a serious note, Alphred's never really thought about things like sexuality yet. If he did, we'd have every reason to be concerned.
But,
he has seen people of the same gender love each other very much.
And he couldn't really comment about it.
It looked interesting to the young child though. And they really seemed to enjoy each other's company. At least, their happy faces made it seem that way.
Maybe they had other friends to spend time with as well? He heard people talk about how they spent lots of nights in each others houses.
To him, it seemed weird how they'd only visit once though.
Wasn't that a bit rude?
Oooh~ Maybe they all took turns playing tag and board games.
He wasn't very sure.
But, maybe he'd be bi-curious?
He was curious about lots of things overall.
Or would he just be straight and curious?
Either way, the little kid didn't really let it concern him.
He could worry about that years from now, if they survived that long.

PERSONALITY
Age:
"Two hands worth." (Ten-years-old)
Likes:
☺[Sweet Stuff]
But not the expired or rotten sweet stuff.
No, those are horrible.
☺[Action, Horror and Drama stories]
Preferably ones with happier endings.
He would actually cry if the hero ended up dying, no matter how cliche their final words or the scenario is.
After all, shouldn't everyone have a happy ending?
☺[Being able to do what he wants, when he wants to.]
The thought of staying indoors is really unappealing to him.
[All in all;]
Alphred is fond of sweets and horror dramas mainly because of his age. As a child, the boy couldn't help but relish both things for practically the same reason.
They didn't have a lot of these stuff in the orphanage they stayed in. Getting a single slice of cake there was probably as rare as a nobleman backing down their claim on the throne, which probably ranged from rarely to never. And plays were things that belonged to the high or middle class. Often times, the boy would try to sneak into the theater and catch a glimpse of a performance. Of course more often than not, he'd be kicked out and left in the cold streets.
Either way, he felt it was worth it
He loved having a chance to watch the actors form stories out of pre-made movement and words.
They were so interesting to watch.
Also it was cool to imagine himself calling out the shots.
He had heard that one could make a decent living out of it, so the more he would try his hand at directing one day.
Hey, maybe he'd get his break from there.
Bah, details.
[Going Deeper into Character Development]
Alphred's always wanted a pet. But not one of those hybrids.
No, he couldn't afford that.
He wanted a normal cat or dog that could snuggle up in his arms and fall asleep in his lap. It would be a tiny little animal that would he his companion and friend. Then, he'd have another confidante to talk to. He'd be able to tell someone how he was feeling and get the the things he was feeling off his chest.
He can't tell brother everything, no matter how much he wants to. And as a result, he sometimes feel that all the pressure is on him. If he had a pet, he could tell it stories about his fading memory and inner thoughts. It would just listen to him with bright eyes and take everything he had to say to heart. He would be its hero... right?
Besides, it would be nice to have something else to take care of aside from the duties he had to his brother.
That dream was fulfilled when he found a little chocolate bunny and its brother in the snow. The white rabbit sadly didn't make it.
But he grew attached to the other and named it Hero.
☻Dislikes: ( Mainly expounded in overall personality)
☻[The mere thought of people trying to assist him]
☻[Feeling that he failed other people's expectations ( Especially Matt's)]
☻[Sitting indoors]
☻[Horses]
Aspirations
✰" One day, I want to be the one to wipe away your tears.
After all you've done for me,
for just being there...
I wish I could have done something more for you in return."
✰Alphred's dream is to be able to finally see his brother become happy and find a place for both of them
✰He also wants to travel and see the world for himself. He hates the thought of being alone and trapped indoors.
✰Lastly, he wants to throw his brother a birthday party.
Sadly, he can't afford it.
Fears
✄[Enclosed rooms]
✄[The Dark]
✄[Horses]
He tends to be reminded of the incident
[All in all;]
Memories are things that can be blocked out but never removed. Even if you don't know why you're scared of something, you may still feel the effects later on through life.
It's like a scar.
You might not know how you got it, but it's still there in plain view.
For Alphred, the effects are definitely still real for the poor child. The mere thought of being trapped in a tight area immediately reminds the boy of the upturned carriage and the fear he felt while trying to escape. He remembers the blurriness of the outside and the pressure he felt both physically and mentally. His heart begins pounding as he goes through a panic attack, fruitlessly trying to calm down and relax. Even something like a blindfold can make the child react and flail.
So you can imagine what the kid would go through when affected by both.
Chances are, he'd probably faint.
And add the sound of horses trotting and running and you'll probably have him break down in tears.
Or have a heart attack.
They pretty much go hand in hand.
Strengths:
☀[Willpower]
What the child lacks in mental skill he makes up for in pure stubbornness. If he sets his mind on something, he plans to go through with it.
No matter how stupid or nonsensical.
After all, everything can be accomplished with enough willpower, right?
☀[Innocence]
Being a young kid, he still maintains his innocence and optimism.
He also tends to be cheerful to the point of fault.
It's easy to smile when you truly believe things really can work out.
Even if an adult would say it's impossible.
Weaknesses
☂[ Hardly attempts to read the atmosphere]
Alphred can read atmospheres and tell the emotions that are filling the air. He can also understand why some people react in certain ways.
It just so happen that more often than not, he doesn't act on it.
How could he?
Hey, don't get him wrong. It wasn't like he was copying some other guys who "don't try to 'feel the mood' " in order to annoy others. It wasn't really to prove anything either.
He just doesn't really bother trying to do so.
It was pretty much as simple as that.
☂[Fond of snooping and eavesdropping]
Alphred is also nosy and fond of peeking into other people's problems, conversations and belongings. It's a free world, and he has every right to take a glance at other people's things just like they'd be able to look at his. After all, freedom of speech and freedom to look at other people's crap. Right?
But then again, he didn't really have anything looking at.
Besides, what if he was able to help? Then it would all be worth it. If he wasn't though, at least the comfort another person would feel about him knowing their little secrets would still be there.
And yeah, there was comfort there.
At least, Alphred thought so.
☂[Clumsy]
Make the child walk in a straight line.
Chances are, he'll trip about five times before reaching the other side.
[All in all]
Alphred has a lot of weaknesses and faults to him. He tries to be strong and brave but sometimes ends up falling flat on his face. It's not because he doesn't try though.
No, the young boy gives his all.
Alphred's problems mainly revolve around his youth. As a child, it can be hard to take things seriously. There are so many chances you can miss and opportunities to lose when one only looks at what's in front of them and nothing else. You'd need to get a bit sidetracked to find your way back on the path you want to take. The only thing is, Alphred tends to remain sidetracked for quite a while.
He also has a very short attention span to go along with that.
He tries to be competent and act as the hero that everyone wants to save them. That's why he continuously tries to see into other people's sadness and problems. But in reality, he's just a child.
And god, he hates it when he's reminded of it.
He gets very hurt when people refuse his assistance, feeling that they think of him as useless or a disappointment. He's failed his brother before, how many other people does he have to burden before he finally succeeds?
How many more times does he have to see Matthew cry?
The memories of his defeats are still as vivid as ever, no matter how hard he tries to block them out. He still remembers the tears shed, the whimpers and confusion that shook them both to the core when they were abandoned and left alone. He wishes they would fade and disappear but they never seem to be able to.
It's like an eternal reminder of what he hadn't done and what he could have done better.
Habits:
☎ Occasionally, Alphred will find that he has some place to go. But halfway there, he'll end up forgetting where it was and turn around.
☎ When he tries to read maps, he tends to hold them upside down.
He also won't notice until you point it out.
☎ He gets moody when you talk about fatherly or motherly figures but can become aggressive and bitter at the former.
[All in All;]
Every so often, the boy will talk in his sleep. No one can understand what he says, for he mashes his head into his pillow when he does so. He'll roll and kick, squirm under the light covers of his blanket and sometimes even tear up and cry. His dreams aren't like Matthews, possible visions and signs of what is to come or what has gone. They consist of pure fantasy and whims, not really linked to anything but a small hope.
Also, his little moments happen when he feels cold.
He'll dream of what it's like to be under a parent's embrace, to have someone their to comfort him and say 'It'll be ok. You'll be fine.' He'll imagine a guardian ruffling his hair while telling him that he and his brother will make it.
He'll dream of consolation and comfort, things he can never show that he needs.
His greatest wish is to have someone say to him that he's not alone.
Because sometimes, being a hero can be lonely.
Overall Personality:
In terms of personality, Alphred tends to have a rather straightforward one. He cares for his brother because he's the only person he has left, to the point of it becoming almost paranoia for the young child. The elder of the two feels that it's his responsibility to fix everything, even if he actually may make things worse in the process. After all, no one else can do it except for him.
Ever since the two were abandoned, they were forced to survive mainly on their own. Now, Alphred has never really been skilled at things like chores, cooking and cleaning. ( He still isn't) So the most he could really do is try to prevent any more danger from happening.
That way, he could shield Matt from any more pain.
He didn't want the younger one to feel that Alphred had failed him....
He didn't want him to be put through more torture than they had already faced.
And if it meant hurting himself in the process, then so be it.
Heroes were meant to sacrifice themselves, right?
And they always made it out in the end.
So if he was a hero, he would too.
It was only natural.
He's cheerful and an optimist in terms of outlook but does have moments where he breaks down or sulks. Of course, he tries to hide both of these from his brother. The times he does fall into weakness are the times he's reminded of the family they've lost.
His way of coping is to act like he doesn't mind at all.
He has to be strong for both of them and hide any regret he has for not remembering them. If he were to show that he was sad about it, how would Matt take it?
His naivety and over-confidence leads him to believe that the younger of the two wouldn't be able to handle the info.
He feels that if Matt were to know, the younger boy would crash and not be able to recover.
After all, he was younger.
How was he expected to solve things himself?
There was absolutely no way that was possible.
Alphred tends to be impulsive, rushing into any situation as fast as possible. In his point of view, things can always work out for the good guy.
It's just a matter of time before they do.
He's nosy and ever-curious, always trying to look into the business of other people. He hates not being able to do anything, feeling that a hero's job was to save everyone no matter how difficult. For him, it would be easier to give up breathing than to stay put and watch others solve their own problems. He's desperate to feel that he has a part, that he isn't as useless as he seems. He wishes to make it up to Matthew, to who he feels that he had failed him, for allowing him to fall into such a deep trench.
Although it can seem that his world revolves around his brother alone, Alphred has other wishes and desires.
It just so happens that it's rather difficult to go through with them in their situation.
Al's dream is to travel the world. He wants to explore the things around him and broaden his horizons. But because he's always locked and cooped up with his little brother, he doesn't really have the chance to do so. He's never even really learned to read a map due to the fact that his current universe was made so small by fate.
He also wishes to become a theatre writer. He enjoys talking and speaking his mind, making him believe that he could make amazing stories as well.
Now if only the boy would learn to enjoy actually writing things down, he might get somewhere with that aspiration of his.
The boy's mind has been subconsciously tainted by fear though as a result of the trauma that afflicted both his brother and he. When exposed to things that are even slightly reminiscent of the incident, Alphred freezes up and panics. His mind returns to the time of the accident, leading him to flail and shout in hopes of people 'saving them'.
He hates that fact about himself, feeling that a hero shouldn't be afraid of anything at all. These weaknesses drive him on, making him even more desperate to become a 'defender and protector of the innocent and weak' aka Matthew. When he's in one of those moods, the boy refuses any help or guidance from the people around him. He believes that he needs to be independent and that other people assisting him would just put him back in the same spot as before.
In his opinion, letting other people be heroes to him would be the same as giving up and renouncing his claim and the desire.
And to the stubborn kid's mind, that is completely out of the question.
[Going Deeper into Character Development]
If you were to base your judgements purely on how he acts around his brother, you may not be able to see the little secrets that Alphred holds inside of him. At first glance, the boy seems overly cocky and aggressive. But he also has moments of pure timidness and submissiveness. He can be bright and hopeful just as easily as he can doubt and question.
Why you may be wondering?
Well that would be because it's necessary. He has to seem responsible to fit the description of 'competent' in other people's minds. That facade can never disguise his true nature though, which comes out just as often as he pulls off the 'mature' look. In reality, the boy is exactly what he seems to be.
A juvenile.
He's noisy, spontaneous, careless, and rowdy, the main things you'd think of when imagining a child. He makes decisions based on emotions and takes risks that he knows can get him into trouble just for the fun of it.
He tries to walk on the edge to see if something will try and bite him in the process.
Without his brother to keep him in line, he'd probably have had his life messed up beyond repair.
You see, Alphred tries to make Matthew happy. But to do that, he can't have him worry. So he tries to go past his nature and seem like he knows what he's doing. He tries to seem like he's got the world in his hand and the power to do anything.
Al thinks that Matthew needs him the most.
But really, it's probably him that needs Matt.
Without him, there would be nothing to keep Al from running into every stupid situation he could think of.
By the age of twelve, he probably would have already have met his maker.
His little brother is the one keeping his head on his shoulders, forcing him to think over every to majority of the decisions that he makes. Al's never really cared much about his own safety, feeling that he can win over luck's affection eventually.
And that if he doesn't find home on earth, maybe he'll find home in some other place.
But he worries about his brother and about what will happen if he's left alone. He doesn't want to see him hurt or in trouble after all (even if it's a bit hypocritical on the elder's half).
So with all his strength, he tries (emphasize on tries) to stay safe for his brother's sake if not his own.

HISTORICAL FACTS
Birthplace:
As far as he can remember, he's lived mainly in the orphanage with his brother. He can't remember life before that.
Still he would often joke his brother about what would happen if it turned out that they had lived in a grand palace. It would have had high walls and a lot of space for them to roam around in. There, they would always get lost and have amazing games of hide and seek. Maybe they might even have had a garden to have picnic lunches and evening dinners under the stars. The food would be lighted by candle flame and the chairs would be made of velvet and wood. After that, they'd feast on their great meal and return to their rooms to drift away in soft and cozy beds. They'd close their weary eyes to the sound of a music box and the hushed, even whisper of a musical and legendary fairytale.
Ha~
As if that could ever happen.
Parents:
Alphred has no idea who his parents are. Ever since they were abandoned, the memory had been gradually fleeing farther from him.
He couldn't say it really got to him though. Even if it could be lonely, he had his brother with him. They had survived that long without them, they could continue doing so as well. W-well... It would be nice if they came back, yeah. He would be happy if they remembered the two of them and returned to pick them up.
Even if it wasn't his original parents though, he'd be content.
Right?
Of course he would...
Just as long there was someone to take care of them.
And obviously, the only reason he wanted them so much was for his brother's sake. He could live independently, sure. But his brother was too weak, he couldn't take being on his own. At least, that's what Alphred thought. And he was older so, he should be right about this. After all, he knew his brother better than anyone.
There was no way he could be wrong.
Alphred would last on his own,
but Matthew wouldn't survive for a second.
And that's why it was his job to take care of him.
Otherwise, Matt wouldn't be able to do so himself.
He would just get hurt again, as he always had before.
Alphred couldn't let that happen.
No, not again.
After all, he was the hero.
Matthew was just his brother.
Siblings:
Matthew Florian Jones.
His brother and only family.
Education:
He knows how to read and he knows how to write.
No one said he had to like doing either though.
But, he forces himself to write stories for the sake of his dream of directing performances. His goal is to make a good one and get famous from it.
Due to that, he is a semi-decent writer.
At least, if not only in horror, dramas and action stories.
Biographies would probably end up having more explosions than called for if he were to direct them.
History:
Alphred doesn't remember much about his past.
All he knows is, Matthew has always been with him.
The most his memory could trace back to was a few minutes before the fateful finding near the carriage.
The sound of horses trot-trot-trotting had filled the air just like any normal horse ride. The coach seemed to be going faster and faster as the horses whinnied in displeasure. There was screaming and shouting as the coachman struggled to gain control over the carriage once again. " Down! Down! Stop!" the man had yelled, instructing the panicked horses as well as he possibly could. Sadly, there was naught much could do about the situation. The sound of wheels thumped and crashed as the wood slowly began chipping and splitting. Bigger and bigger, the cracks grew in size until majority of the wheels were already destroyed.
And as quickly as one could say 'Hey!' the wooden ring collapsed. Its remains scratched across the ground, producing a metallic sound as the coachman fell off the side. In their confusion the majestic steeds lurched forward, pulling the carriage along with them.
They were traveling and sprinting wildly in along the path, hurtling face first into a nearby area. In his state of bewilderment, Alphred was frozen to his spot. Eyes wide in awe, the young boy stared at the blurred scenery flashing before his eyes.
It was as if... it had been planned from the start.
" Alphred!"
Turning around, the boy was snapped out of his daze by his brother's yell. Looking at the young child, he noticed him pointing up at the roof. Squinting, the boy noticed a slidable opening on the top of the coach. Having a spark of idea, the two came up with a plan. Lifting the younger one on his shoulders, Alphred winced.
His brother was a bit heavy, but he could bear the weight.
" A bit more... A bit more.... "
Looking out the window, Alphred noticed that they were no longer in a recognizable area. They were lost.
A horse's cry broke through his thoughts as the carriage slowly rocked forward. It was.... tilting forward?
"I got it!"
Feeling the weight lighten from his shoulders, the boy looked up.
Matthew had made it out.
Extending his hand towards his brother, the elder attempted to grab onto Matthew's.
But was his brother strong enough?
After a few painfully slow minutes, the carriage was at its end. The horse's force had made the ride on the verge of turning over. A sudden motion gave the speeding deathtrap its last push, along with supplying Alphred with enough of a lurch to reach Matthew's hand. Climbing out, the two managed to escape. But, the following movements caused them both to fall and tumble off the top. Barely conscious, the two landed in a nearby bush.
A few feet away from the upturned carriage.
Turning to look at his brother, Alphred managed to take one glance at his sibling before falling into the darkness.
He was....
Matthew was safe...
xxxxxx
A few days later, the child woke up bandaged in the orphanage with little to no memory of what happened before the trauma. For the following weeks, all he could say to those who asked about the incident was " The carriage....".
And the only person he agreed to talk to was his brother and no one else.
All he knows is, Matthew has always been with him.

A few days later, the child woke up bandaged in the orphanage with little to no memory of what happened before the trauma. For the following weeks, all he could say to those who asked about the incident was " The carriage....".
And the only person he agreed to talk to was his brother and no one else.
Who's gonna fight for what's right?
Who's gonna help us survive?
We're in the fight of our lives
And we're not ready to die
GOSSIP
Known Facts:
[/b]☑[sweet tooth]
Alphred is fond (to the point of obsession) of sweet things.
No, really.
If you showed the child a pack of candies, he'd probably trade his right hand for it.
He also enjoys really sugary pastries like cakes, muffins, sponge cakes, cookies and will probably even eat cream on its own. He hates dark chocolate because of its bitterness and can't stand the taste of it. It is also said that he has a horrible sense of taste, but that has yet to be confirmed.
☑[Matthew]
He cares dearly for his brother and hardly remembers a time when they were separated from one another. Ever since the two were abandoned by the adults, Matthew is all that Alphred had. It was as if his sibling was the only thing keeping him alive and sane, giving him the strength to continue on.
A hero always had someone they wanted to save.
For him, it was Matthew.
☑[Action maker]
While Alphred implements plans, it is actually Matthew who makes them. This comes from Alphred's impulsiveness and admittedly short attention span. Often times, he misses out on details due to looking at the problem hastily.
☑[Hero]
Alphred's little bunny.
To be filled up later.
Rumors:
⊡[My Fictional Non-Fiction]
Alphred is planning on making a play about his brother and his life. It will be a story about two orphans who wake up in an orphanage and later travel around the world. They fight aliens, zombies, and other supernatural creatures, all while wearing shades and traveling in a huge aircraft.
⊡[When I grow up...]
When Al grows up, he wants to become a pilot and travel the world.
⊡[A potential fighter in the making?
Alphred knows how to use a gun and has done it before. He still feels remorse and regret when he does it but actually has pretty good aim when close by. If you were to give him glasses, maybe he could shoot from far away as well.
He's also stronger than he looks and can deal a good punch. But due to his naivety, it is easy to trick him into believing a cause through blackmail.
Can this possibly be used?
Secrets:
[Alphred is near-sighted.]
When someone has myopia, their vision is decreased.
No, it doesn't mean they become blind.
It just affects their range of view.
When you're nearsighted, you can only see things nearby well. Anything farther away would look blurry or hard to read. If one were to squint though, he/she would see a noticeable improvement in the image. This is why when reading books or looking at images, Alphred typically has to hold things close to his face.
His reason for not wearing glasses is, no one really thought it was necessary.
And his brother doesn't know.
⊠[Alphred had bed wetting problems for quite a while.]
Up to now, he still has cases of it.
⊠ [He's not as strong or capable as he wants to be.]
Although he commonly tells others he is, Alphred doesn't know how to do a lot of things. Only lately has he learned how to tie his own shoe, how to to whistle, how to make a knot or bow, and how to take care of his brother well. In the start, he was pretty much useless. He was dependent on others for a lot of things; he needed help from his brother to complete even simple tasks.
Of course, he'd act like he didn't.
He would say that he wanted to be independent.
But it was only through this experience that he had the chance to learn. It was only after they were abandoned that he was able to actually live.
He was forced to learn new skills; he didn't have a choice in the pace of maturity.
Of course, he still acts like a kid.
The only difference is, he's able to actually do things on his own.
He's able to make his own choices on how to help and who to help.
And after having a taste of freedom, he would probably rather die than be thrown back into oppression or rules.
He had learned to live for himself on his own...
just the way it should be.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
The sound of screaming pierced the air as a young boy cried out in fear. At his side, a sleepy ten-year-old sat waiting....
Just like he had the past few hours.
Holding onto his brother's hand, Alphred tensed. Rubbing his drooping eyes with his free hand, the boy sighed. It might take a while before his brother woke up... By the looks of it, he was pretty caught up in whatever horrible images he was seeing.
And until then, his brother would be alone.
Matthie would be trapped in a dreamland of horrors, a place Al couldn't follow. No matter how much he wanted to look into it, he never could. No matter how desperate he was to find the answers to what was happening, he could never seem to figure what was going on out.
He was supposed to be the hero.
The one who made sure his brother was safe.
But trapped alone in a dark room with nothing except for the shrieks and cries of his sibling, the boy couldn't help but feel he had failed. He was supposed to know how to fix everything that came in the way.
So why couldn't he?
Clutching Matthew's hand tightly, the boy tightened his lip.
He needed to stop the tears that were already threatening to rise.
" Matthie?" he whispered, his voice shaking with effort, " It's going to be alright. Just hold on a bit longer."Watching little Matthew flail and trash, Alphred continued. "Please," he said, " I'm here. You're going to be fine. After all, I-I'm the hero, right? You'll be ok... H-hey! D-don't twitch like that, Matt.... It's scaring me. "
Why wasn't he waking up?
It normally didn't take so long for him to recover form a nightmare.
Could the boy even hear him?
In a way, it felt like there was a barrier in between them.
No matter how hard Alphred tried to beat it down, it was almost impossible to do. He could kick and trash and bite and punch, but it wouldn't reach through to his sibling.
Nothing he did could.
Feeling wet tears spill across his cheeks, the boy gritted his teeth.
No...
No..!
He couldn't cry.
If he did, he would look weak. And if he looked weak, who would protect his brother? Who could help him get through the darkness that was plaguing his mind?
One after another, the slippery droplets came crashing down.
One after another, the boy's desperation grew worse.
What if his brother didn't wake up?
What if he went insane from the dream?
What if he wasn't going to be ok?
What if he was left alone?
Not seeing a noticeable effect, the child broke down."G-God," he said, words slurred and fumbled out carelessly, " if you can hear me, please help my brother. Let him be ok."
He didn't know what to do...
Matt wasn't recovering....
For all he knew, the boy was slipping farther away from him.
" I'm sorry," he choked, his voice caught in his throat, "I'm sorry." Murmured apologies filled the air as the young boy sobbed.
"I'm sorry I couldn't help you.
I'm sorry you have to see these things.
I'm sorry you can't escape it.
I'm sorry I'm not strong enough.
I-I'm sorry I let you down.
I'm sorry I'm being so useless.
I'm sorry I'm too weak...
I-I'm sorry I can't make you smile again.
I'm sorry I can't do anything...
I'm sorry for breaking down....
I'm sorry for crying like this...
I'm sorry I didn't listen to you...
I'm sorry for the times I didn't see you....
I'm sorry for the times I abused your presence.
I'm sorry I couldn't find us a family.
I-I'm sorry I lied about knowing how to solve everything....
I'm sorry....
I'm sorry I'm not a hero..."
" B-but" he stammered, tightening his grip on his brother's hand, " That means you can't leave me yet. Y-you have to wait until I get stronger. You have to stay until I fix everything!
When that happens, my lie will become the truth, right?
I can be a champion again!
I can be....
a hero....
And then...
then, you'll be there too!
Right?
Just like you always are!
You'll be there rooting me on...
After, we can both go home together.
Y-yeah! W-we'll find a home!
I know you're scared...
You told me so yourself....
But even so, you have to make it through with me, buddy!
We have to escape this together!
I don't have anyone else.
I don't want anyone else!
I need you with me.
Matthie...
Please wake up...
And don't leave me like this....
Please...
Don't leave..."

The next morning,
Alphred found out that his brother was suffering from nightmares.
With a light chuckle, Alphred brushed the statement aside. " Dragged to the ground? Watched?" he repeated lightly, " Right... Are you feeling alright, Matthie?" Patting the young boy on the head, the elder child smiled. "Anyway, I'm sure it's nothing.
Now, let's go and get breakfast.
I'm not saving you a spot if you're late."
Turning away, the boy hoped that his brother didn't see the puffiness in his eyes.
It was nothing.
He believed Matthew... but he didn't want to accept it.
And even if something was wrong, showing worry would just make his brother feel worse.
So until the time was right, he would hide it.
After all, he was the stronger one anyway.
He had to be....
Just like he had the past few hours.
