DATA[/center]
Class: Hybrid Feral
Species: Trumpeter Swan
Name: Nadia Fay Fortuna
Nickname(s): Duckling (by Idris), Swan-girl (by Lionel), Na-na, Swan Lady or Ms Swan (by Leilah)
Birthday: 29, May 3020
Owner: N/A (yet)
House: ----
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eye Color: brilliant amber
Hair Color: swan ivory
Height: 5' 5"
Weight: 104
Build: very slim and lean (not really curvaceous—think ballerina)
Distinguishing Features: the black beak-markings that blaze over the bridge of her nose and part of her cheeks, has ivory down along the back of her neck
Typical Dress: always something sleeveless to compensate for the wing-feathers full-length down her arms
Orientation: straight
Other Notes: As in a swan's nature, has the potential to form a pair bond with another, which will lead to life-long attachment.
As well, Nadia is willingly able to change into a swan of unusually large size (then again, Trumpeter Swans are the largest of swans) and therefore has the ability to fly and swim. She can jump from and to heights, but with difficulty, in human form.
PERSONALITY
Age: 22
Likes: (at least 4)
[one] Fish (they taste good)
[two] Ballet, because it shows how much more graceful she is than anyone else
[three] Taking flights over the outskirts, or the city at night when all the lights are aglow
[four] Shiny things. They are simply enchanting in the light...how they dazzle and look almost golden....
[more?] Idris and Lionel, her bffs
Dislikes: (at least 4)
[one] HHS, in particular Elena
[two] Nets and cages—they maker her nervous
[three] Nights without the moon to see by

Aspirations
- Kill Elena
- Get revenge
- Improve her ballet
Fears
- Getting her wings clipped
- Losing anyone else important to her
- Being unable to complete her revenge
Strengths:
- Relatively stealthy
- Incredibly graceful
- Learns quickly with her eidetic memory
Weaknesses
- Can become blinded by the mention or chance of obtaining revenge and think of nothing else
- Gets competitive when someone challenges her to something she feels she excels in
- When stressed or upset, will stop eating and get reclusive
Habits:
- Can be caught stretching periodically to stay limber
- Will fluff out her arm-feathers and neck-feathers when she’s scared or angry
- Preens herself using the bridge of her nose when she’s contented
Overall Personality: As refined as a hybrid feral from the Outskirts could possibly be, Nadia has an ear for good music and a mind set for revenge. She can be accused of a one-track mind when she gets worked up at the chance or mention of carrying out her plot for revenge on the HHS’ Elena. She also has a slightly proud carriage, and does believe no one can be more graceful than she.
Nadia will continuously check up on her bffs—she doesn’t like being distant from them or out of contact with them for long. This anxiety about not being in touch with the people who are important to her stems from the loss of her family thanks to an HHS accident, which has led her to have this side-effect of her trauma.
The trumpeter swan hybrid is a generally nice person, and a young female of few words. She does however tend to calculate and weigh the importance of something against her personal agenda before ‘going out of her way’ to help someone or do a favor for someone. If it doesn’t seem as imperative as, say, revenge or protecting the ones important to you, she will coolly refuse to lift a feather to help. Her personal value scale is a little skewed—sometimes she will jump to someone’s aid or some cause at one moment, and other times, she will ignore the matter as entirely not worth her while.
Other Notes: her key tactics and overall approach to life can be boiled down to being patient, forcing her opposition (or obstacle) to make a mistake or faulty move, and being continually enduring. She is filled with counter-plans and rarely openly makes the first move. She always roots out weaknesses before she takes action.
<'Special' Note>: Swans are such beautiful and graceful creatures. They are not only relatively gentle creatures in nature, but they are also terrific parents and would protect their young to the bitter end. And here lies the problem. Many birds have an instinct to protect their young when approached by a predator, but they will eventually give up if the predator is too strong or dangerous to deter. The swan however, does not give up. They will keep going until either they are dead, or the pursuant is, whichever comes first. These creatures, which can grow up to 30 pounds in weight, are very aggressive when provoked, and will bite and hit you without hesitation. The real danger however stands for those who are unable to swim, as swans have been known to fly over a perceived enemy, pushing them under the water until they drown.
HISTORICAL FACTS
Birthplace: Outskirts
Parents: Athanasius and Faina Fortuna (both deceased)
Siblings: Used to be the middle-most of 7. Now the only survivor.
Education: Mostly self-taught, surviving in the Outskirts
History:
Nadia remembers little of her short life before she met Idris and Lionel. She had a big family, and things were good. They would swim together, fly together, migrate across the Outskirts seasonally; all these fragments are what she can, at best, recall. The faces of her parents and siblings are still vivid in her mind, though they are no longer with her. She can also recall where their graves are.
It was some time ago, and she was still a fairly young (adolescent?) when she lost everything. From then on, she simply haunted the grounds where she'd buried her family, leaving only for short distances to eat. Most hybrids avoided the grounds she kept to, and she remained isolated from the world. Till that day.
She met Idris first, when he took her in after she had nowhere left to go, fresh from losing her nest and home. The only show of kindness in a long time, (despite his being a snake, and obviously predatory) and because she likes his shiny scales, led to Nadia's meeting Lionel. They became the BFF trio (herself, Idris, and Lionel) since then.
She eagerly agreed to their cause, since Nadia's flock was killed by Elena in a routine HHS raid, when excessive force was used in the capture. Since then Nadia has been wholly concerned with revenge, and took up Lionel’s offer, if only to get back at that wretched human for what she did to Nadia’s flock…

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
There was a soft whimper of strings, then the violins began to sing their lone euphony. On the empty stage, a single form moved forward from the shadows, in time with each rising pitch and droning dip of the joining orchestra—viola, bass, cello, and following accoutrements. Clad in new-fallen snow, she took a graceful plié, rose un pointe, brought herself to retiré.
The music swam around her, and she swam through it, first position, third position, leaping across the wooden boards in a gorgeous pirouette to finish arabesque, then turn thrice, extending to a side-leap with her legs chassé. Her face was soft as down, eyes closed, lips askew just so—to kiss the music as she met it, danced with it, let it dance her. Her arms arched above her head, she rose to pointe, a leg extended out behind her, and her shadow cast white across the dark boards. The white of a swan.
It was the routine she had memorized—the very first performance she had ever seen. She let herself be consumed by it, moving with her precious memory. So close to that stage, she could almost touch that white tutu, could hear the barely audible padding of those soft silky flats—
A hand, and a gentle nudging touch. Nadia awoke with a start to Idris’ voice. She blinked large amber eyes up at him. He was calling her down from the rafters where she slept. Lionel awaited the both of them below, the powerful leopard hybrid keeping them in his watchful gaze.
She leapt down, landed with her heels crossed in second position, back arched, winged arms out so her feathers could slow her ascention. As she straightened and looked to Lionel’s kind expression, Idris was also there.
She knew what it was about. She had to leave now. They were giving her the O.K. Lifting her chin, Nadia turned brilliant amber eyes to the roof of the broken dome, its jagged edges framing the midnight sky choked with stars and smoke from the City of Humans.
“I’m coming to get you. Elena.”
